📍Jumblies Theatre – 132 Fort York Blvd

👩‍🎨Meet The Facilitator! RUTH HOWARD is an interdisciplinary artist and founding Artistic Director of Jumblies, where she produced multi-year residencies in Toronto neighbourhoods 2001 to 2022, as well as cross-country tours, new musical and dance works, festivals, films, books, and many other collaborative community projects. Ruth has also worked internationally as a theatre designer, teacher, and mentor, and has won awards in recognition for her work.

🎭Explore tales of Jewish witches, protective powers, and magic gifts hidden and unharnessed – reframing, reclaiming, and reinventing myths of survival and resistance into new collective stories.

📜Combining words, imagery, object play/puppetry, gesture, sound, staging, and other artistic forms through rapid, accessible exercises, we’ll end the day with a final short group performance.

🎨Leave with a repertoire of approaches, processes, and materials to bring into future story-making and arts projects

♿Fully accessible venue. 😷Masks required. 🍪Light snacks provided.

Presented with generous support from the Ontario Arts Council.
